How can I get my university to participate in the PalsAbroad.com online community?
If your university is not currently a PalsAbroad member, send us an email containing the name of your school and where you will be studying and we’ll gladly send them an invitation.
How can I get a PalsAbroad account?
If your university is already a participating member of the private PalsAbroad.com online community, you will receive an invitation from your study abroad program director. Simply follow the sign up instructions included in this email invitation.
If you are an Independent Student traveling and studying abroad and you want a PalsAbroad.com membership, click Here.
Are PalsAbroad.com memberships free?
Both kinds of PalsAbroad.com memberships are absolutely free!
Is PalsAbroad.com secure?
PalsAbroad uses several different levels of physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure your PalsAbroad online experience. However, ALWAYS use caution when networking with individuals with whom you are not already personally acquainted. We insist that you do not take chances by using your PalsAbroad profile to divulge personal and/or contact information to anyone.

How do I set up my PalsAbroad.com profile?
If your university is already a participating member of the private PalsAbroad.com online community, you will receive an invitation from your study abroad program director. Simply follow the sign up instructions included in this email invitation.

If you are an Independent Student traveling and studying abroad and you want a PalsAbroad.com membership, click here. Enter ONLY your official and active university email address; otherwise your application will be rejected. You will receive an invitation, via email, from PalsAbroad.com. Simply follow the sign up instructions included in this email invitation.
What can I do if I forget my password?
If you forget your password, click here or return to the PalsAbroad.com homepage and click on “Forgot Password?’ PalsAbroad will send you your password reminder.
What if I forget my username?
Your username can and will only ever be your official university email address.
How do I change my password?
To change your password, log into your profile, click “Edit Profile,” click “Change Password,” and follow the instructions on your screen.

What is my “Profile Name?”
Your “Profile Name” is the name that you choose to appear next to your profile picture. We recommend you only use your first name or a nickname, and strongly advise against using your full name as your profile name or including it anywhere in your “Profile Name”.
Why can’t I see everyone’s full member profile?
PalsAbroad.com prohibits you from viewing the full profiles of other members who have not accepted you as a “Pal.” If you wish to view a non-Pal’s full profile, submit a networking request by clicking the “Add to Pals” link and follow the instructions on your screen. Always be careful when approving or inviting Pals to your network, since networked members have full access to your profile as well.
I can’t log into my account, what do I do?
Make sure that you have entered the correct email address (official university email addresses only) and password. If you are still having problems logging into your account, please contact us via email, at info@palsabroad.com or directly through our PalsAbroad profile.
How do I upload pictures?
Log into your PalsAbroad.com profile and click the “Pics” link located directly under the photo box. Click “Browse” to locate the picture that you wish to upload to your profile. Remember to only upload images with .jpg/.jpeg/.gif extensions.
Photos may not contain nudity, violent or offensive material, or copyrighted images. If you violate these terms your account will be deleted.

How can I change my personal information?
Most of your personal information can be easily edited through the “Edit Profile” link on your profile.
Do I need to verify my email address?
Your email address will be automatically verified by PalsAbroad following your initial application.

Why must I provide my students’ university email addresses? What will this contact information be used for?
Your students’ official university email address is our first and strongest guard against unwanted users on PalsAbroad.com. Only students who have an active university email address can join the PalsAbroad community. University email addresses serve as user login names and we assure you that this contact information will be used ONLY for security and log-in purposes.
How does my calendar work?
You can post events, schedules, changes, etc to your calendar by clicking the “Add Event” icon. When you make a change/addition to your calendar, you will be asked whether you wish to send a quick reminder message to all of your program students informing them that a change/addition has been made.

Who can see my calendar?
Your program students will have full access to your calendar through their own profiles. When you make a change, they see it. You even have the option to automatically notify them of any changes in the schedule through the PalsAbroad messaging system.
How / When do I submit my students’ work to Published by PalsAbroad?
At the end of each semester, we accept one submission per university study abroad program per category. Please submit the most outstanding work from each of the below categories:

Fiction
Non-fiction / Experiential
Photography
(Photographs of) Art and Sculpture
PalsAbroad does not claim the copyright for any submission. We simply wish to provide a venue for our members’ exemplary work.
 Alumni Memberships
What is an Alumnus membership?
Following your program end date, your “Student” membership
will automatically become an alumnus membership. You will
retain your Pals, blogs, messaging capabilities etc.
I can no longer log in as an alumnus. What happened?
If you do not log-in to your alumnus profile for 60 consecutive days, your membership is automatically terminated.

How can I report inappropriate pictures, language, or messages?
If you discover that a PalsAbroad.com member has posted content containing any form of inappropriate pictures, language, or messages, please contact us immediately at info@palsabroad.com or directly through our PalsAbroad profile.
What can I do about copyright violation?
If you believe that the content on a PalsAbroad.com member’s profile, blog, or any other portion of PalsAbroad.com in some way is in violation of current copyright laws, please contact us immediately at info@palsabroad.com or directly through our PalsAbroad profile.
How can I report an unregistered user?
If you believe that a PalsAbroad.com member is using Palsabroad.com with an improper registration please contact us immediately at info@palsabroad.com or directly through our PalsAbroad profile.
